Cheetahs Running Club
The popular Cheetahs Running Club continues for the Spring 2020 season under the guidance of Coach Nick Goddard and Coach Guy Bazan! We will continue fostering a love of running with instruction on proper form, warm ups and pacing.
As we have with previous seasons, we will also be working on multi-sport conditioning protocols to aid their high-end sprint speeds in other sports such as baseball, soccer, basketball and lacrosse. The team structure will remain the same with a focus on setting your own goals, sportsmanship and athletic camaraderie while training for a couple events: The Cheetahs have a goal to participate in 2-3 local races this season. Races and dates will be announced soon. **Please note: Race registrations are separate from Running Club fees; parents are responsible for registering their own families for the races they wish to participate in.** The team will be open to all 2nd-5th Graders with special consideration for interested 1st graders made on an individual basis. There are only 30 team slots available and priority registration will be given to returning students. A waiting list will be available. We’d like to balance out the team this season! We are hoping to recruit more 5th grade girls motivated to race Middle School Cross Country. Registration is $100 per child, per season. Kids who participated last season must re-register each season. The club practices every Friday on the Daves Avenue track, 2:30-3:30 pm. The Spring Season will begin January 10th. The 4th and 5th grades may have an additional session Mondays at Fisher Middle School or LGHS (times and locations will be emailed.) *Please contact Coach Nick Goddard directly if you have any questions or if your child has any health concerns he should be aware of.* |
