Dear Daves Avenue Elementary School Parents, Teachers, and Staff:
It is with heartfelt words that I write this letter to inform you that Principal, Kit Bragg, has tendered his resignation and will be leaving Daves Avenue Elementary School effective Friday, February 19, 2016. Kit has been offered a position as a Middle School Principal in a neighboring school district. The Board of Trustees will be accepting Kit’s resignation tonight at the February 8th Special Board meeting.
While this news came unexpectedly, we are taking the necessary steps to ensure a smooth transition for the remainder of the 2015-16 school year, as well as begin the search process for a new Principal for the 2016-2017 school year. It is our intent to build on the strong momentum at Daves and continue in a positive direction.
We will be meeting with the Daves staff on Tuesday, February 9th to collaborate on an interim solution beginning Monday, February 22, 2016 - in time for when the students return from winter break. We are very fortunate to have the administrative talents and experience of other principals, teachers and staff to guide our future and ground Daves through this transition.
It is also our goal to keep you informed as more information becomes available. At the same time, we will be inviting executive leadership from the Daves Avenue Home & School Club to participate in recruiting a new Principal for the 2016-2017 school year.
For over three years, Daves Avenue Elementary School has benefited under the vision, guidance and aspirations of Principal Bragg. On behalf of the students, families and staff, both past and present, I offer our sincere appreciation for his tireless efforts in contributing to the Los Gatos community. Please join me in wishing him and his family the very best in their new endeavors.
Sincerely,
Diana

Subject: LGUSD Strategic Planning Survey - correct link
Dear Los Gatos Union School District Community,
Our current strategic planning vision has been in effect since 2009 and has served us well by helping to focus our efforts on a number of important initiatives as we have continued to support our students, teach 21st Century skills, develop the whole child, collaborate with community partners, and improve District operations.
As we kick-off 2016, we have the opportunity to revise and update our strategic vision and to think about the high-priority initiatives that will best serve our students and the District over the next five to seven years.
To do this, the Board will be updating the strategic plan over the next few months and would like to ask you to take a few moments to share your perspectives regarding: what you value most about our school district, how we can do more of what you value, and what areas you think we should consider for improvement.
This survey, which is anonymous, provides you with an important opportunity to have a voice in the strategic planning process. Please take a moment now to click on the following link to share your thoughts and help us brainstorm the ideas that will shape the future for our students.
If you have not already done so, please click HERE to take the survey.
The survey link will remain open until Monday, January 25. Thank you for your participation in this important process as we continue to make our public schools the best they can be. If you have any quesitons, please contact my assistant, Michelle Strachan, at 408-335-2001.
