Fundraising
The Daves Avenue H&SC has over two dozen committees and many more volunteers that work together to facilitate the success of the H&SC's goals and programs. Our annual budget is approximately $300,000, and with those funds we support academics in and out of the classroom, provide technology in every classroom, offer community building and student enrichment throughout the year.
These financial goals are supported through a variety of school-wide fundraisers. Not only do these events raise funds for our programs, but they also build a sense of community and belonging.
FUN RUN … Started in Fall 2003, the Fun Run became an instant smash at Daves and gives our students the opportunity to participate in school fundraising. Not only is it a great fundraiser, it is arguably the most fun day of the school year! Before the event, students receive pledge forms and are asked to solicit pledges from friends, family and neighbors. Pledges are a flat fee and are collected after the event. Classrooms prepare for the day by making room spirit banners, and putting on special Fun Run t-shirts. While the Students focus on healthy habits, sportsmanship, and school spirit – they also raise money for their school!
THE COOL CAT AUCTION … Our annual spring dinner and auction is just for adults! This fundraiser includes dinner, a live and premier auction, "sign up" parties, and a band that plays throughout the evening. A staff wish list, and “Fund The Need” led by the auctioneer are also highlights. This event isn't just a fantastic evening of socializing and entertainment, but is the largest fundraiser for the H&SC.
OUR GOAL IS TO RAISE $400 PER STUDENT.
